First off, if you haven’t a clue as to who Mr. Darcy is, let me change your life by recommending “Pride and Prejudice” by the incredible, brilliant and ahead of her time, Jane Austen. Or take the time to rent it from your Netflix account, I would go with the Keira Knightley movie, however you choose to enjoy this classic, just make sure you do it.
Mr. Darcy, Mr. Darcy, oh where do I begin? He’s strong, he’s silent, he’s revered, he’s elegant, he’s chivalrous and to wrap him in a bow, he has an amazing British accent that swoons every woman’s heart. With all the obvious to us women, it has definitely raised a question amongst men.. “What’s with Mr. Darcy”. I’ve been asked this question more than once and when asked again last night, I thought I’d take the liberty to let all of you guys in, as to why Mr. Darcy has captured just about every woman’s heart and attention.
For starters, most men would assume that women would accredit their love for Mr. Darcy based on the fact that he is conveniently wealthy beyond measure. But dear men, let me set the record straight for you, while his wealth doesn’t dissuade us from fancying him, this is not his attribute that causes us girls to giddily dream of our own Mr. Darcy. Mind you, there is another wealthy gentleman who is also in this plot, however, never once have I heard it mentioned that women have even considered him. What’s his name anyway?
No, while Mr. Darcy is wealthy, his attributes go far beyond what’s in his wallet. Throughout the movie we subtly witness Mr. Darcy’s agonizing love for the ever so strong “Elizabeth” and in his silent pursuit, the saga unfolds over the heights and depths that Darcy will go to in order to captivate his hidden love.
He’s a man that pursues and with the best intentions in mind. Despite that “Elizabeth” has completely misread our beloved Mr. Darcy and in great detail screams why she shall never marry him, he still persists, hoping to bring clarity to her heart, that his character is one of nobility, integrity and love.
The biggest thing men can learn from Mr. Darcy is that he is a man who pursues. Men this is huge to a woman, I can’t reiterate this enough. Nothing is more attractive and sexy than a man who knows how to “properly” pursue a woman. Second is the character of this man. He is strong, he possesses great integrity (this is very high for me, liars, cheaters, cowards who bend the truth are sickening to me.), he’s humble enough to admit when he’s wrong and goes out of his way to remedy any situation that has fallen apart due to his own accord (MAJOR COUGH! ELBOW TO YOUR SHOULDER AND ANY OTHER GESTURE I CAN’T MAKE TO GET YOU GUYS TO PAY ATTENTION TO THIS ONE!!!) His pursuit for “Elizabeth” is all done from the depths of his heart. Meaning, he has gone out on a limb and has put his heart in a volatile position, as he is unaware of “Elizabeth’s” feelings towards him.
Games that our society has put into normal “dating and pursuit” annoy the hell out of me. It’s castrated men from being men and women from being women and has turned us into a manipulative bunch who become so estranged from our own hearts, that it takes several drinks for us to consume before we are capable of really expressing ourselves. Communicating from heart to heart is becoming something like solving World Peace. But no, not for our dear Darcy, he is a man and speaks very directly from his heart, to his very feminine Elizabeth.
I could go on and on about Darcy, but I’ve been generous enough to cover a few things as to why this man capture’s so many women’s hearts. So men, you must be asking, “How do I tap into my inner Mr. Darcy?” Become a man who is well acquainted with his own heart and in there lies the key. Once again, http://www.aricaangelo.com/coaching/ is a great tool I’ve provided to assist you in doing so, but this is not a journey for the faint of heart. It requires a real man to step to the challenge.
That’s what’s with Mr. Darcy.
