If you haven’t heard by now Prince William and his lovely wife Kate Middleton are now expecting their first child!! It’s such exciting news and especially for those of us who are obsessed with the Royals. Yes I was that fanatic American who woke up at 4am to watch them step into wedded bliss. Here’s a video I did the day of their wedding http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDJ3_TboXjY&feature=share&list=UUEe1wJreegWWirsfPLlosCw
When you see something like this, a real life fairytale, what does it do for you? Does it provoke hope? Or does it have you second guessing whats possible for you and do you automatically put yourself in the “won’t ever happen to me” category? Hopefully stories like this are of more interest to you then reading about Kim Kardashians divorce. I would hope that this would provoke you to have faith and believe.
Sure most people can easily dismiss Disney fairytales, but
when a fairytale is being played out before you in real life, it becomes very challenging to throw it under the rug and call it non-existent. Because the truth is when you see someones dreams being played out, it brings your heart and mind back to accountability to recognize that what Frank Sinatra sang can be true for you too! ”Fairytales can come true, it can happen to you, if you’re young at heart….”
Here’s a challenge, instead of dismissing fairytales and justifying why they’ll never happen to you, let this set you up to open up your heart to believe. Or do you feel more comfortable reading stories about Kim Kardashian, or Tom Cruise’s divorce so that you can feel comfortable in your sick perspective on love and your partnership with hopelessness? You have to be accountable for your feelings and picking up a tabloid to justify why your heart is content with hopelessness won’t suffice.
How’s it working for you? Does despair really make you feel good? Does despair bring you closer to your goals in dating, love and relationships? I’m going to say that it does not. Try hope. Try being happy for another couple who’s fairytale is coming true. Allow yourself to be accountable to your wants and desires to see them actually come to pass!
