Okay she didn't really bite me, nor did she bite the guy I'm about to tell you about, but hey, I had to say something to grab your attention ;)
I'm going to tell you a real story about one of my clients.
For starters, I love my clients. I think they're some of the most courageous men I've ever met and most of my clients remain a part of my life.
I think of my clients often and when we've finished working together, I dream for them. Dream that the right girl one day walks down the aisle with them, has babies with them and as they say the rest is history!
Of course when I tell some of them this
they freak out and say "Whoa Arica slow down, you're scaring me!"
That's what I'm here for, to scare the living sh*& out of you and then see you live out your wildest dreams.
I remember one night I was with one of my clients and for one of his coaching sessions with me, I thought it'd be great to go out and pick up chicks at a bar.
Well he'd be picking up the chicks, I'd just be pointing him in the right direction.
He thought this was a dream come true! A hot woman, helping him pick up other hot women. Ummm hello, this translated into any guys paradise moment!
That is until I challenged him.
I let him settle in for a bit, even recommended that he have a beer because I knew it was about to go down.
I was going to 100% totally push him out of his comfort zone and I knew that that beer was going to be the only saving grace he would find that night.
So it began.
As I skimmed over the bar, I found my gaze stroll to a table filled with beautiful women. Bingo!
"John, (that's not his real name, doh!) I want you to walk up to that table filled with pretty women and the one that you find most attractive, I want you tell her that you find her stunning."
And that's when John collapsed to the ground and we had to call 9-1-1.
I kid, I kid, but he did almost have an anxiety attack. That part's real.
John at that point was freaking out and at any second was ready to call it a night.
But I stepped into full Dating Coach mode.
"John, we're not going anywhere. You're not leaving. And you are going to talk to those girls."
At that point, I found myself honestly getting scared, because what I saw in John's eyes broke my heart and had me too nervous. I began doubting myself, "Arica are you pushing him too far, is this too much?"
Despite my doubt, I went with my gut and told John "We're not leaving, you're doing this. Period."
That's when we got to the bottom of matters. Fear was kicking John in the cajones.
"John what do you think she's going to do to you? You think she's going to kill you or something?"
(I would've said bite, thus where my title came from for this blog, however John was way beyond biting. His life was on the tight rope and at that point he would've settled for a bite.)
To which he explained, "Yes, yes I think she's going to kill me!!"
As John heard himself speak out such ludicrous words, it didn't stop the tears that were about to burst from his eyes and it didn't stop the shaking that he was feeling.
It didn't matter. John was going to talk to those pretty girls.
After he calmed down and rationalized with his own thoughts, guess what John did?
You damn straight, John talked to those pretty girls.
As soon as he walked back over to where I was standing, I could see what once were eyes full of terror, were now eyes washed and filled with hope.
In fact his eyes were gleaming. John had conquered his fear and felt like the unstoppable man he was and is.
So of course I had to do what was most noble in that moment.
Did I encourage him and tell him how wonderful he was in that moment, as a good dating coach would?
Nope. I grabbed his arm and pinched the crap out of it and said "OH MY GOSH, SHE DIDN'T KILL YOU!!!!"
To which he smiled and said "No Arica, no she did not kill me."
Guess what, just as the pretty girl didn't kill John, she won't kill you either.
So quit wasting your precious life away and go talk to her.
If she bites you, well.... that's your problem!
