This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending Fashion Swim Week in Miami… but most importantly, it was MY BIRTHDAY!! And I’m still celebrating If you ask any of my friends they’ll all tell you that I love fashion and clothes, shoes and handbags galore. So naturally when a friend of mine told me about Fashion Week in Miami and got me front row seats, I was elated!!
While I could go on and on about the fashion, there is something else I’d like to talk about that I observed at the fashion show. Here at AricaAngelo.com we constantly share about the importance and value of confidence. I can’t tell how many conversations I’ve had with people about dating and what I find to be the success and/or the lack of it. So often do I hear people say to me “Yes Arica you have success with dating because you’re an attractive woman”, to which I always respond “Not true!”
When I started writing about Dating, Love and Relationships, there was something that primarily inspired me. I had witnessed two gorgeous women who were out dating, one was successful, the other was not. The one who was successful, owned it. When she dated she had a strong presence about her and knew what she had to offer. The other woman, while incredibly gorgeous, lacked to understand the value that she carried and as a result attracted lots of flies into her dating world.
So while watching the fashion show, though the women were all absolutely breathtaking and quite the sight to behold, my eyes were looking for the ones who possessed natural confidence. Puckered lips and a pretty face aren’t always the golden ticket to confidence. Confidence is something you can see in the eyes, you can witness it in the strength of their walk, you can feel it in their energy and it’s usually a force to be reckoned with. I admire people with true confidence and I applaud them!
As the ladies did their strut, I noticed several who really “owned it” on the runway. It made me so excited that I exclaimed to my friend “Look, look at her, she is owning it!! Look how fierce she is!!” But what I was primarily referring to was the confidence that I witnessed. Despite that they all had smiles, or runway faces going on, there were those that possessed such great confidence that I found myself wanting to celebrate them! It made them all the more attractive.
The same thing counts in your dating. Confidence is key and falling more in love with yourself is the most genuine way to go. We can all “practice” confidence in the mirror, but to truly possess it comes out of a self love. Get really good at loving yourself and you will OWN the STRUT!!
So tell me… How Are You Struttin?
